This week's highlight was the celebration of the Araw ng Lourmah wherein the medical students incorporated different activities at par with their Comprehensive Health Plans.
First was the Search for Little Miss Solid Waste Management 2023 wherein representatives from each grade level of Lourmah Elementary School showcased their talents and creativity in projecting their attires made from recyclable materials. Ms. Brihana Ashley D. Grapa, 3rd grade student, deservingly won the title.
Second was the Purok Beautification Contest wherein each purok were given criteria to follow in improving their respective Purok Houses; establishment of Materials Recovery Facility (MRFs), decorating with recycled materials, vegetable gardens, are few of them. The results were really jaw-dropping as the residents gave their best efforts in beautifying their puroks. Finally, Purok Singko took the spot of the most beautiful of all. Second placer was Purok Siete, third was Purok Sais. Other puroks were also awarded with Purok Kwatro as being the most improved purok and Purok Uno as having the best garden.
Last highlight and the climax of the Araw ng Lourmah was the Zumba-Hataw Contest. This is in line with promoting healthy lifestyle to prevent Hypertension. Purok Dos went home as the champions as they were superbly prepared and moved in unison. Purok Singko won the second place, while Purok Tres-B as the third placer.
Everyone really had a great time! The support of all - from the Barangay Council down to the residents made it all possible for us seven medical students to organize every detail of it. It was fulfilling to see and hear their happiness and gratefulness. Alhamdulillah!
